Mercy to the Poor

The vision:
Part of our three prong focus at Grace & Glory Ministries is Mercy to the Poor; this is an area that is very close to our heart and we believe it is very close to the heart of the Father God as well. James 1:27 declares “External religious worship [religion as it is expressed in outward acts] that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need, and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world.”

At Grace & Glory we strongly believe that when you minister to someone’s physical needs, it opens up their heart to receive spiritually. When Truth is demonstrated, it can be easily embraced. It's not enough to tell someone you love them; God the Father didn’t just tell us He loved us- He sent His only Son from heaven to show us His love, thus making eternity available to our lost souls. Sympathy sits; compassion acts! Our desire is to demonstrate the tangible love of God in some of the most poverty-stricken places of the world.

Isaiah 58:6-8 [Rather] is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every [enslaving] yoke? Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house--when you see the naked, that you cover him, and that you hide not yourself from [the needs of] your own flesh and blood? Then shall your light break forth like the morning, and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life) shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness (your rightness, your justice, and your right relationship with God) shall go before you [conducting you to peace and prosperity], and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

In the past five years our teams have delivered 20 tons of humanitarian aide to hundreds of families in Honduras and El Salvador. After ministering to their physical needs, many of these families gave their hearts to Jesus! We have also sponsored several children in Brazil to live in a home of refuge.

Our vision over the next five years is this:
  • Per year we will deliver a minimum of 20,000 tons of desperately needed humanitarian aid –such as food, clothing, medicine, and toys. In 5 years, that will equal approximately 1 million pounds or more. This aid will go to the poorest people in the most deprived locations, bringing them real love and necessary hope! Do you realize that your gift of $50 per month can feed a family of five for that entire month! Click here to sponsor a family!
  • Miriam’s Basket Project: This project parallels the way Miriam saved her little brother Moses by way of a basket down the Nile River. As we know, Moses grew to be a mighty leader that God used to deliver His people out of Egypt. In the same way, this project endeavors to take children from the dangerous streets and slums of the nations to the loving refuge of a home and ministry team that will pour in Life and raise up sons and daughters of God. These children receive schooling, proper medical and dental care, food, clothing, and discipleship in Christ. You can sponsor a child to come off the streets and into a home for only $100 per month. Click here
  • Miriam’s Basket Home: This future home is an extension of the Miriam’s Basket Project. Our vision is to actually build another home for the increasing number of children that are coming off the streets. The more homes we build, the more children we can save. Each home costs $50,000 US dollars to build. We need one hundred people to make a commitment for $1000 to see this dream come to pass. Click here to help us build our “basket”!
