Alive2Love is a charity program established for supporting those in impoverished conditions. Our desire is that it will carry on into years of giving towards needy children. As a branch of our Mercy to the Poor/Miriam's Basket Project, "Alive to Love" will focus its outreach on children and families who are suffering and in need. Our hearts have been broken as we have witnessed the insane poverty that many children live through in the streets and slums of Central and South America. No poverty we have seen in the blessed country of the United States compares to what is a daily reality in these third world countries. Many children are forced to go into the cities to beg at stop-lights and in high-traffic areas in order to bring in money to support their families. We are at an advantage and we have great responsibility to help those who are in such devastating need. As we "care for the needy, we honor the Lord." (Proverbs 14:31)

 

Through this program, donors will be given the opportunity to "adopt" a child by means of sponsoring them on a monthly basis. Each donor's funds will be directed to one child or family in particular to directly assist in providing them proper education, clothing, toys, and other daily necessities that we often take for granted. Each and every gift helps these children immensely! 

 

As a family, we can testify of the fruits of this program as we have had the privilege to "adopt" a precious little girl by the name of Yone. She is eleven years old and she lives in a favella (slum) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with her mom and brother, Gustavo. They live very simple, humble lives, surrounded by violence and poverty. A few months ago, she was not receiving a good education; she had very little clothing, not to mention, any toys or pleasures to call her own. Whats more, Yone is gifted with a beautiful voice and the potential to make something very special with her life. In her current surroundings, it seems like an impossibility. However, things have changed for Yone. We recently met her face to face and what a blessing it was to see her flourishing. Because of the monthly support for her, she is now in a good school pursuing an education; she has new clothing and at eleven years old, she received her first baby doll! We gave her a guitar for her to invest into her gifting...The look of awe in her eyes when she received this present was enough to inspire us to duplicate this relationship through those of you who care to participate. The life of one little girl has been forever changed; and we believe she is the first of many.
